Foreign language
Most students must hone their capacity to interact professionally using a non-English language. Minimum course requirements vary by desired placement region. Questions about taking a Foreign Language at FIU? Contact your PCP coordinator for more details.
Intercultural competence
You are required to take 1 core global learning course and 2 elective global learning courses that will help you engage thoughtfully and fluidly across cultures and build your capacity to shift your own perspective. *Note – in some cases, you can replace one of these electives with a prolonged intercultural experience, such as Study Abroad, volunteering abroad in a Peace Corps-service country, or working to support new immigrants or refuges in the Unites States.
Professional and leadership development
Peace Corps service and many international development opportunities are highly selective. We will help you identify specific activities to help in the development of your professional and leadership skills.
ePortfolio, GPA and course grade requirements
You will engage in reflection on your Peace Corps Prep experience by creating a webpage. Review the full list of PCP eportfolio requirements.
