Michelle Zaldivar
Bio
Michelle is the Program Manager for Faculty and Curriculum Programs at the OGLI. She oversees curriculum and development process for the portfolio of over 275 GL courses from supporting faculty in making developing GL curriculum through group and one-on-one workshops, to acting as secretery for the Global Learning Curriculum Oversight Committee. Michelle also manages faculty facing programs that foster community and collaboration such as monthly faculty sessions, The Globe, a monthly faculty newsletter, and amplifying the work of global learning faculty across the university.
Michelle believes strongly in the power collaboration: that celebrating our differences gives us the unique perspectives we need to move forward in an ever-changing world. In the Office of Global Learning Initiatives, she advocates for faculty and student work that explores creative and sustainable solutions to the issues we tackle as a global community.
She brings the experience of nine years as a classroom teacher in Miami Dade County Public Schools with insight into student collaboration through the International Baccalaureate curriculum and sponsoring clubs and publications. Michelle holds dual undergraduate degrees in International Business and English Literature and a M.S. in International and Intercultural Education from FIU.
