Jhonery Mendoza is a Senior Program Coordinator at Florida International University’s Office of Global Learning Initiatives. In this role, she manages co-curricular programs such as Peace Corps Prep and Tuesday Times Roundtable, while supporting a broader portfolio of global learning initiatives. A proud Venezuelan American and FIU alumna, Jhonery holds a B.S. in Hospitality Management, an M.S. in International and Intercultural Education, and an Ed.S. in Teaching and Learning. She is currently pursuing a Ph.D. in Teaching and Learning with a specialization in Curriculum, Culture, and Social Studies. Jhonery’s passion for international education was sparked during her undergraduate studies through participation in two faculty-led study abroad programs. Since then, she has dedicated her career to advancing global engagement, supporting international students, and developing global learning programs at both FIU and the University of Miami.
An active contributor to the field of international education, Jhonery has presented at conferences and webinars hosted by organizations such as NAFSA, FAIE, AAC&U, and EducationUSA. She has also collaborated with nonprofit organizations to promote global awareness and civic engagement. Driven by a commitment to fostering cross-cultural understanding, Jhonery believes in the transformative power of global learning to build bridges across borders.
