Bio
Connie Penczak is an Assistant Director at the Office of Global Learning Initiatives. She provides the overall direction and leadership of all university co-curricular programs aligned with FIU's global learning initiatives including the Excellence in Global Learning Medallion (GLM) program, United Nations Milennium Fellowship through the Milennium Campus Network, and other student facing programs. Additionally, she contributes to the development and implementation of philanthropic initiatives as well as cultivates and engages in partnerships on campus, with alumni, and nonprofit/community organizations at all levels to support scholars and fellows immersed in Global Learning projects and research.
Connie has served in other student facing roles at FIU in both academic and student affairs, working first as an Academic Advisor for STEM students in the College of Arts, Sciences, and Education and then as a Program Manager in the Center for Leadership and Service, where she managed Alternative Breaks, Relay for Life, and the GivePulse platform on behalf of the university. Prior to her role in higher education, Connie was primarily involved in nonprofit work that serviced children and families domestically and abroad. Since 2015, Connie has studied and worked at FIU, which led her to find her passion in working with aspiring leaders, especially those who wish to make a positive impact in a global community.
Connie holds a Master’s in Public Administration, a Graduate Certificate in Community Development, and a Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice with a Minor in Philosophy from FIU.
