If you are on campus:

  1. Visit the activation page
  2. Create an account or log in with an existing account that uses an fiu.edu email address
    • Sign up for an account with your FIU email address
    • If you are having trouble connecting, try clearing the cache and cookies on your browser and/or make sure you're connected via FIU's Secure WiFi
    • After registering for an account, you can access The New York Times directly
  3. Once activated, a faculty pass is valid for 1456 days. Student passes are valid up to the graduation year entered at sign up. After the pass expires, you (faculty) can easily renew your access by re-entering your FIU email address on the activation page.

If you are off campus:

  1. Visit the activation page
  2. Click the Go button.

  3. Navigate to your institution’s sign in page.
  4. Log in with your institutional credentials.
  5. Create a NYTimes.com account using your institutional email – or use your pre-existing profile.
That’s it! Once your faculty pass is activated, you can access the New York Times from any location for 1456 days. After this, you’ll have to re-activate your account.

Already a subscriber?

If you currently have a paid personal account with your FIU email, contact the NYT, cancel your personal account, and set up an FIU account. Cancellation will occur when your current subsciption expires.

 

The Tuesday Times Roundtable

You could be the next moderator of the Tuesday Times Roundtable, FIU’s signature global learning event. This series of moderated conversations about current global issues and trends occurs every Tuesday, from 12:30-1:30pm during the academic year. It is open to all students, faculty, and staff. All TTRs are free and include lunch for in-person sessions held in the Graham Center, Room 120. Explore this semester's schedule of TTRs below. Starting Fall 2020, TTR is online via Zoom in compliance with FIU remote learning.

The New York Times inEducation

FIU students, faculty, and staff also have access to the New York Times inEducation resource. inEducation is The New York Times' curricular tool designed to help university professors and students connect what's happening in the news with their studies.

Across 16 disciplines of study, leading professors contribute weekly posts featuring a piece of journalism and prompts for discussion, exploration, and analysis. inEducation is hosted at nytimesineducation.com. Simply register and login with your school email address.
