Bio
Barbra Roller, Ph.D., joined FIU in 1994 in the Department of Biological Sciences and is currently Associate Professor in the Department of Cellular Biology and Pharmacology, Assistant Dean for Academic Affairs at HWCOM, Administrative Director of the Graduate Certificate in Molecular and Biomedical Sciences, and is also a Faculty Fellow in the FIU Honors College, where she teaches global learning courses. She is passionate about inspiring youth to pursue a career in STEM and healthcare fields, and instills in all her students global awareness and an appreciation for social determinants of health. Roller has a particular interest in innovative teaching, incorporation of active learning strategies and critical thinking into her classes, and the creation of new educational programs at both the undergraduate and graduate level.
