Dr. Judith Mansilla is an Assistant Teaching Professor and Faculty Advisor at FIU's Department of History. Her research interests focus on the Andean region under Spanish rule. Mansilla's work integrates environmental, political, social, economic, and legal history approaches. She teaches various undergraduate classes covering diverse Latin American history topics, from pre-Hispanic to the National Period. In her teaching, Mansilla emphasizes Latin America's role in the current globalization process, which started when Europeans arrived at this region in the late fifteenth century. She also offers courses that integrate other regions, such as Asia and Europe, in connection with Latin America.
