Bio
Suman Kakar is Associate Professor in the Department of Criminology and Criminal Justice at Florida International University in Miami, FL. She is a pioneer faculty member in designing and teaching a Global Learning-designated course on Human Trafficking. Her research interests focus on human trafficking, immigration, violence within families and schools, youth gangs, and crime prevention program evaluation. Her recent research has appeared in national and international journals, such as Campbell Systematic Reviews; The Palgrave International Handbook of Human Trafficking, and Women & Criminal Justice.
