Dr. GabrielMayora is currently an Assistant Teaching Professor with a joint appointment in the Department of English and the Center for Women's & Gender Studies. His research and teaching focus on questions of citizenship, belonging, and cultural representation as it pertains to the rights of LGBTQ+ populations. He regards his global learning courses as a platform to place rhetorics of LGBTQ+ rights in the U.S. in direct conversation with similar discourses of LGBTQ+ citizenship in international contexts. Some of Dr. Mayora's relevant courses include Intro to LGBTQ+ Rights, Queer Cinema, and Sexual Citizenship in LGBT Narratives. Dr. Mayora currently resides in Miami with his partner.
