Bio

Amanda serves as the Maurice A. Ferré for Civic Leadership's Coordinator of Administrative Service. She received her bachelor's in political science, during which time she studied abroad in South Africa and became interested in international education. This sparked her passion for volunteering as a teacher in Latin America, inspiring her to relocate to Miami to complete FIU's International Intercultural Education master's degree and a graduate certificate in Latin American and Caribbean Studies. Now, Amanda is a third-year doctoral student in the Public Affairs program, focusing her research on human trafficking policy. Fulfilling her role as MAF coordinator, Amanda facilitates the Civic Leadership Micro-Credential and workshops utilizing the United Nations' Sustainable Development Goals framework to provide students with a global perspective to learning.
