Amanda received her bachelor's in political science, during which time she studied abroad in South Africa and became interested in international education. This sparked her passion for volunteering as a teacher in Latin America, inspiring her to relocate to Miami to complete FIU's International Intercultural Education master's degree and a graduate certificate in Latin American and Caribbean Studies. She formerly served as Maurice A. Ferréfor Civic Leadership's Coordinator of Administrative Service where she facilitated the Civic Leadership Micro-Credential and workshops utilizing the United Nations' Sustainable Development Goals framework to provide students with a global perspective to learning.
