
1) Training and Experience in a Specific Sector
In consultation with your Peace Corps Prep Coordinator, select one sector. Then complete 3 related courses and 50 hours of hands-on field experience in that area. Available sectors:
- Agriculture
- Youth in Development
- Education
- Environment
- Health
- Community and Economic Development

3) Intercultural Competence
Engaging thoughtfully and fluidly across cultures begins with one’s own self-awareness. With this learning objective, you will deepen your cultural agility through a mix of three introspective courses in which you learn about others while reflecting upon your own self in relation to others. The goal is for you to build your capacity to shift perspective and behavior around relevant cultural differences.
Students have the option to choose from:
- 3 courses on global perspectives (Global Learning Courses)
- A combination of 2 foreign language courses and 1 course on global perspectives (Global Learning Courses)
- An Intercultural Experience and 1 course on global perspectives (Global Learning Courses)
4) Professional and Leadership Development
Peace Corps service and many international development opportunities are highly selective. We will help you identify specific activities to help in the development of your professional and leadership skills. Program Requirements
- Resume: have their resume critiqued by someone in Career Services
- Interview: Attend a workshop or class on interview skills or participate in a mock interview
- Leadership Experience: Develop at least one significant leadership experience

Additional Requirements:
ePortfolio, GPA and course grade requirements
You will engage in reflection on your Peace Corps Prep experience either as part of a larger portfolio of your Global Learning Medallion experience or as a stand-alone reflection.
You must pass all courses taken toward the Peace Corps Prep Program certificate with a C or higher and have an overall 3.0 GPA or higher to receive your certificate.
