Global Learning Hosts Income Inequality Film Screening With Campus Partners

On Feb. 20, 2014, FIU hosted a screening of the Sundance award-winning documentary Inequality for All, followed by a live web chat with Former U.S. Secretary of Labor Robert Reich.

This event was hosted by the Office of Global Learning Initiatives in partnership with the Center for Leadership and Service, Center for Labor Research and Studies, and FIU Libraries.

Over 80 students attended representing 10 courses from varying academic departments.   Representatives for the Student Farmworker Alliance and the Restaurant Opportunity Center were also at the event.

The film features Reich discussing the impact of income inequality on the economy and political system.  Students were able to tweet questions to Reich during the live, digital Q&A session broadcast from San Francisco State University using the hashtag #IFAonCampus.
