Global Learning Conference 2012 to be held April 12

The 2012 Global Learning Conference aims to bring together faculty, staff, students, and community members to discuss global engagement in higher education.


The Conference consists of the following sessions:

9:30-11:30 Workshop: "Big Classes? Big Headaches? Strategies for Engaging Students"
Strategies for providing active learning opportunities for students in large classes across the curriculum and co-curriculum.


11:45-1:00 Luncheon and Discussion: "Does Engaging with Difference Make a Difference?"
An open exploration of the methods and meaning behind intercultural/interdisciplinary discussion inside and outside of the classroom.

1:15-3:15 Global Learning Blasts: "Powerful Ideas to Ignite Global Learning"
15-minute hands on demonstrations of global learning strategies that can be implemented across the curriculum and co-curriculum.

3:30-5:00 Reception
Opportunities to network with faculty, staff, students, Student Affairs, and administrative collaborators from across FIU and other institutions.
