About Us

Global Learning for Global Citizenship is the centerpiece of internationalized undergraduate education at Florida International University, providing students with multiple opportunities for active, team-based, interdisciplinary exploration of real-world problems. This curricular and co-curricular initiative undergirds FIU’s university-wide effort to foster global learning through the creation of interdisciplinary programs; growth of international student enrollment and study abroad; increased faculty hires with a global focus; and, expansion of collaborative research with universities around the world. Global Learning for Global Citizenship is distinguished by its commitment to engage every undergraduate FIU student in the development of a global perspective rooted in innovation, respect, and the need for action.  

Ultimately Global Learning for Global Citizenship is a promise to every FIU student: graduates of the University will be empowered with the knowledge, skills, and attitudes they need to become informed and engaged citizens of the world.
